The Walking Challenge – Day 2:Walking and Brushing Away The Cobwebs in Dulwich?

I read an article recently about showing up everyday in the context of ‘making things happen’ by attending events, networks and all sorts and I thought ‘that is so true.’

As an artiste, I show up everyday for my artform and no matter what, I adhere to all the complexities that this encumbers. The ‘artist’s madness,’ to some is like ‘passion’ to me. :-)

And listening to Elizabeth Gilbert on TED yesterday, courtesy of my friend Max Vogler (of the Amadeus Project) in NYC – thank you Max, she made so much sense.

I show up on my yoga mat, sometimes seeming more present than other times. I show up for my hour of meditation, to start my day out right. I show up for my friends and family and I show up for my clients in the studio, whether, I’m teaching Dance, Pilates, Breathing, Relaxation, yoga postures and irrespective of how I’m feeling about my immediate needs or frustrations. I just show up. :-) Because I have to! As an artiste, it almost seems as if that is the choice I have made for my life. :-) Showing up, whilst moving towards a more balanced body and lifestyle……

In showing up, I’m setting my intention to everyone and everything around me about how I will go about my life today.

If today happens to be a challenge that I set as per ‘the 2 litre daily water challenge’, that I orchestrated recently or ‘the walking challenge’ give or take a few days sabbaticals of thought and research, I show up :-) . I show up even when I’m say, spiritually present :-) .

Today, I went for a short walk with a 35 month old and his mum. :-) We enjoyed the fresh air and the ensuing rain too. Later I reflected and relaxed about the day calmly. Walking has a way of brushing away the cobwebs that sometimes collect and encouraging inspiration to flow more vividly once again. :-)

Did you show up for your walk today? :-)

And do you show up for what influences your happiness and how do you make a difference to your world by doing so?

Let’s talk about breathing and stamina tomorrow.

Until tomorrow………..

Many blessings

An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.
