Moving Within

On Monday, my wonderful friends gathered round to support me in a day that turned out to be so fascinating and great! My very first  onsite photo shoot:) for the website. It was great and though I’m far from gracing the next cat walk and all of that, I enjoyed myself immensely:)

My friends Annika and Leon, Roo, Solly and Russell, Ann-Marie, Dan, and Christine all made the day an incredible memory. They were fabulous.

The morning started with the equally wonderful Chris Nash – Dance Photographer extraordinaire, setting up his equipment and lights and checking out angles and being the professional that he is.

What I loved the most, was the atmosphere and the positivity that everyone brought with them. I have to admit at being rather nervous first thing and eventually, as Leon placed himself on the ‘Ladder Barrel’ and we talked and posed, I felt a sense of lightness and ease again in enjoying what I do, which is so much about encouraging movement from within.

Some shots of the various equipment in the Passion 4 Life Studio and this amazing space were captured with shots of my friends on the various pieces of equipment, on mats and relaxation in the ‘quiet room.’

This is the second time, I’ve worked closely with a Professional photographer, but the first time that   I was aware of how important it is to collaborate my artform with another person’s artform, whilst also encouraging an environment of congeniality and ease. There was little or no work here as my friends were themselves throughout and relaxed into making the day a perfect memory! Thank you to all of you:)

On reflection about the day, I had sub-consciously gone into a calm place, whilst moving within myself to be as natural as I could and trying to divert issues of self-consciousness, whilst being photographed. It occurs to me that the essence of moving within is really about subtlety in collaboration with the breath and each time I direct my breath to any tensions in my body, there is a release of that tension, which is great.

And so it continues moving forward…….

Enjoy the days ahead:)
