Curl Ups On The Yellow Bumpy Ball and Thumbs Up To Local Businesses In Dulwich.
Last Friday, I took my purple mat,
along to pickwick estates (my favourite estate agents
), with one of my yellow bumpy balls and some other studio toys. My mission for the afternoon was to assist Paolo Ulivi (co-owner with Adam Shea), with some exercises for strengthening his ankles and also to show him how to use one of my favourite toys – ‘the yellow bumpy ball,’ in curl ups (otherwise known as sit ups) and how to work with the more deeper core abdominals of his pelvis and torso.
Needless to say, I’m of the movement generation, that believes in being kind to the body and moving towards more balance, rather than crunching the body to kingdom come.
And in these rather crunching and fearful mindset times, I’m inclined to be even kinder to myself and those around me. Within reason of course.

We began the session, with some footwork (see the tips in this blog) and then we did some Erik Franklin shoulder specials – lying down (supine) with a towel placed in between the shoulder blades for 3 minutes and then standing up with tennis balls under the armpits to help the sternum to feel broader, the shoulders to drop and encourage deeper breathing. Then we did some curl-ups.
My yellow bumpy ball caught the attention of another local Dulwich Estate agent Chris, who popped in for a chat with Paolo and decided it was a football.
Can you guess my reaction?
I really admire Adam and Paolo’s dedication to encouraging relationships between themselves and other local businesses – they are true networkers. Paolo and Adam, you Rock!
x lol.
I also had the great surprise of meeting Angela Burgess of SE Magazines, courtesy of Adam and Paulo at Pickwick’s, what a lovely lady.
I have gradually started to make friends with the local and more visible businesses in Dulwich and have been pleasantly surprised by the warmth of my fellow business ladies and gentlemen.
Thumbs up to Scotswoman, Elaine, owner of the West Dulwich Women’s Clothing Shop Eclipse, based on Park Hall Road. Eclipse has an array of beautiful clothes for every ocasion. And Elaine is a ray of sunshine and shines with her fantastic personality.
There are a row of shops that I always pop into, to say hello to the owners and most have been very friendly and welcoming.
The West Dulwich beauty clinic beautician and receptionist, Natasha, always smiles and waves as I go past and yesterday, I dropped in for a chat with her. She’s from South Africa originally and absolutely loves her job with Lesley Leale Green Medi-Clinic, so much so that she has been there for six years. She waxes lyrical about how lovely Lesley Leale-Green is, as an employer. A true accolade to the lady, when her employee speaks so highly of her.
The lovely Hannah, who works in Dulwich Books encourages my flyers in the Bookshop and is always on hand for advice on what’s going on locally.
She’s also a budding Designer, so marketeers, check her out in our local West Dulwich bookshop. Thank you all for your incredible support.
Working from home and without a shop front, it’s important to get out and let people know that I exist. The local schools in the Dulwich area have often seen me handing out my flyers and this form of direct marketing has really worked for me so far. It gives me the chance to talk to people while they are waiting to pick up their children and to answer any questions that I may be asked, about specifics to do with Dance, Pilates, Classes, Injuries or pain. Or how to have the body looking great in time for summer.
xlol
It’s Wonderful round here! And I love living in Dulwich.

Until Later……
Enjoy the day.
Many blessings.x
