Thanks Liz for your wise and thoughtful words which are so inclusive to all, particularly those who may find themselves somewhat marginalised. What a great reminder to nudge us all into action and to be the one who makes the offer to others.
I've just come home from a great event which makes this community so special and so inclusive, The Hebden Bridge Hand Made Parade. Children up to the age of 84 have been engaged in making costumes and floats for the parade on the theme of The Secret Garden for some weeks. Enormous movable puppets, snail and beetle, and a Green Man, along with tiny lady birds in costume, busy bees on their scooters and walking leeks and carrots to name a few, have made my day! And a brilliant samba band on stilts along with school children performing dances in the park. It cost the public nothing and gave us everything to warm the heart! As you have today. Thank you!
More of the parade and pics can be found on www.hebdenbridge.co.uk
