6 Extra Daily Corporate Wisdom Tips – Part 2
Continuing on from Part 1, here are some more Corporate Wisdom nuggets for you to think about today. Enjoy reading.
Tip 1
If you are hesitating about something at any point – your gut-instinct is at work. Listen to it. This instinct is there for a reason. Avoid thinking that your gut instinct must be wrong. It’s always right. If you need to pause for thought, this is ok too.
Scenario.
I know that in the Corporate world there is a maxim that goes, ‘its all about timing.’ If you are being pressured into something that you feel needs more research, then it’s possible, this is the wrong deal for you especially if your gut instinct is twinging and giving you all the signals.
Tip 2
Make sure that you have a wonderfully light lunch (perhaps a tossed salad with rye biscuits/bread and some fruit or yoghurt) during the working day and drink plenty of water, juice or herbal teas. (Please avoid numerous cups of expresso’s – if you must, a quota of one for the day is sufficient.)
Tip 3
A power nap in your office for 10 minutes before the end of lunch or just listening to some of your favourite music or relaxation/affirmation podcasts with your eyes closed can make all the difference to how you feel about going back to work and communicating with your colleagues. (set the alarm on your phone so that you are likely to know when time is up.) Or perhaps take a walk outside and sit/lie down under your favourite tree, if the environment permits.
Tip 4
Freshen up in the bathroom after your power nap or walk in the park. Wash your face and brush your teeth to feel revitalised and ready to go again.
Tip 5
At the end of your day, when you get home after commuting, time out with 15 minutes of relaxation and deep breathing, makes a difference to how you will communicate and enjoy the evening with family, friends, loved ones or yourself.
Tip 6
Avoid diving for the remote control and the news. It will just make you revert back to Tip 2 in part 1 and the worry and stress of the current global environment, which you have just come from. Why would you want to do this to yourself all over again, when you are now home to relax?
Sometimes we all need a period of withdrawal from too much ‘buzz’ around us, so that we can be more discerning about our choices. It’s perfectly acceptable to let your friends and loved ones know that you are going through this, so that they give you the space you need – there tends to be more mutual respect this way.
What do you think?
Enjoy the day ahead – Part 4 coming later , just in time for the weekend…….Part 3 on Monday:-)
Many blessings.x
