The Yellow Bumpy Ball Takes a trip outside of Dulwich.
This weekend, I spent some time with two gorgeous friends. It was so delightful as the busy life of a startup can engulf every aspect of one’s life, that it appears as if there is little or no space for anything else.
The two friends that I visited this weekend are nurses and have known me for a long time. Nikky and Val, this blog is for you
I met Nikky on the agency nursing circuit, about 5 years ago and then we worked together more closely, in the private sector for nearly 2 years. I recall her incredible kindness to patients and relatives and knew instantly that this was someone I wanted to get to know.
She has been working part-time in ITU (intensive care units) and Recovery and also studying full-time towards her BSc in Occupational Health and Safety and has 2 young girls aged 6 and 4 and a wonderful husband, Collins. So her life has been very busy this last year.
Collins, her husband, is another resourceful creative, that works in Human Resources and training and who has developed response concierge systems and devices within his company. It’s clear that he has a passion for what he does.
They welcomed me with open arms this weekend and it was great to play with some of the toys I had brought along from my studio and demonstrate and do some short exercises with Nikky, Collins and their girls.
The girls were enthralled by the ‘yellow bumpy ball.’ It really is a show stopper, this beautiful prop of mine.
x It’s always lovely to be around loved ones as their unconditional love and support is like a breath of fresh air and a real joy to my soul.

Inevitably, on these visits to friends, I learn something new about cooking, that fascinates me and I soon absorb their recipes neatly into my own repertoire,
of healthy eating alongside moving towards a more balanced body and lifestyle with Dance and Pilates.
For dinner, we had the vegetarian version of a traditional Nigerian dish – Egusi Soup and Eba (Garri). It’s an acquired taste and I love it. Nikky is creative in her style of cooking and made a beautiful Egusi soup that makes my mouth water even now, when I think about it. Thank you for such a gorgeous weekend and the experience of dynamic power walking in your garden, playing with your girls and laughing and chatting with you and Collins.
On Sunday, after working with a lovely client, I went up to visit my friend Val in Crawley. I’ve known Val for 15 years and so as friendships go, there is a great understanding of where we both are, in our lives. She is a gorgeous lady with a gentle way about her and she leaves a lovely impression on everyone that she meets.
Her home really speaks volumes about her and is so graceful just like her.
She has a passion for vegan and vegetarian food and poetry and so of course, she speaks my language on many levels.
Yesterday, she made a fantastic Vegan sunflower and pumpkin seed roast on a bed of couscous with mixed vegetables and acccompanied by a salsa sauce and I will be willing to direct you to Val for the recipe, should you like to try this incredibly filling and delicious meal for yourself or your guests.
x The dessert was a mouth-watering coconut cake with soya cream. Yummy!
We laughed and shared many jokes about life and we also watched a Tyler Perry film. The movie ended with a poignant song about ‘dancing your dreams.’ I came away with a heart full of support, love and nourishment. This is what it’s all about isn’t it, folks? What a fantastic weekend.
So to my friends Val and Nikky
Enjoy the week ahead
……what challenges, audio or video podcasts next?
Am I still teasing…..lol.x ?
Many blessings.x
A friend hears the song in my heart and sings it to me when my memory fails.
